Pet Met

Concept Development/ Strategy/ Production

Find a new friend for your dog! Or for your cat... Or just for yourself!

Campaign Outline

When the creators of Pet Met, a social app designed to connect nearby pet owners for meetups, needed a compelling way to pitch their idea to venture capitalists and future users, they turned to Zurna Creative.

Tasked with building a captivating campaign, Zurna conceptualized and produced a multi-part content series—including a promotional video, app explainer, and social media rollout—that reimagines the beloved opening scene of Disney’s 101 Dalmatians in live action.

By weaving the story of a lonely pianist and his Dalmatian who find connection through the app, the campaign highlights not only how Pet Met brings pets together—but how it can spark real, human connection as well.

Verbal Identity

As part of the campaign development, Zurna Creative played a key role in shaping the verbal identity of Pet Met, crafting language that was both playful and emotionally resonant.

By coining clever, heartwarming taglines like “Find a new friend for your dog! Or for your cat… or just for yourself,” the team captured the dual nature of the app—bringing pets together while quietly inviting human connection.

These puns and wordplays became central to the brand’s tone, turning simple phrases into memorable slogans that reflect both the lightness and deeper social potential of the platform.

Visual Identity

Once the live-action video was released, it quickly became the unofficial visual identity of the Pet Met app. At a stage when the brand was still developing its logo and graphic design system, the strength of the video’s storytelling, casting, cinematography, and emotional tone stepped in to fill that gap.

The campaign’s visual narrative—rooted in the charming recreation of a Disney classic—offered audiences a clear, memorable image of what Pet Met stands for: meaningful connection through shared love for animals.

In essence, the video didn’t just promote the app—it became the face of the brand, anchoring it with a distinctive and emotionally resonant identity.

Talents and Pet Actors

By casting two charismatic actors whose physical presence subtly echoed the iconic looks of Roger and Anita from 101 Dalmatians, Zurna Creative added an instant layer of familiarity and charm to the Pet Met campaign. Pairing them with a real Dalmatian and a golden retriever—two of the most beloved and visually distinct dog breeds—not only heightened the emotional appeal but also made the narrative unmistakably clear, even without explanation. This thoughtful casting choice transformed the project into more than just a promo—it became a visual homage that tapped into nostalgia, romance, and whimsy, ultimately giving Pet Met an irresistible public debut and a memorable first impression.

Art Direction

Naomi Gonzales Kahn's Art Direction is a masterclass in visual storytelling, seamlessly blending nostalgic charm with contemporary relatability.

Every detail—from the color palette and location choices to the interior decor and props—was carefully curated to evoke warmth, whimsy, and romantic curiosity. Insinuating the possibility of serendipity and amplifying the messaging of the app: If you have a pet, it might lead you to find the right person in life!

Costume Design

While Britney Campbell's meticulous costume design in this project plays a pivotal role in echoing the nostalgia of "101 Dalmatians." but by grounding the narrative in a contemporary setting, she visually reinforces the app's mission to connect modern pet owners through timeless, serendipitous encounters.

Video Production

Despite the natural constraints of a modest budget, tight timelines, and limited resources, Zurna Creative delivered a visually rich and emotionally resonant promotional video for Pet Met that punches far above its weight. By leaning into smart storytelling, clever references, and meticulous production planning, the team transformed a simple concept into a cinematic narrative full of charm and connection. From casting to location design, costume to music, every detail was used to build a world that feels polished, purposeful, and inviting—proving that creativity and vision can often outweigh big budgets.

The result is a promotional piece that doesn’t just explain what Pet Met does—it makes you feel why it matters. Drawing subtle inspiration from classic tales like 101 Dalmatians, the video manages to deliver heart, humor, and humanity in under two minutes. Zurna Creative’s ability to craft such a grand-feeling story within real-world production limits is a testament to their ingenuity and commitment to quality storytelling.

”We had a basic idea of the app when we first started pitching it to Armen over a cup of tea and five minutes into the conversation, he was already sketching a storyboard and writing slogans in talk bubbles on a napkin! I don't know where the dalmatian's idea popped out from, but it was freakin' awesome!"
